COREY WRIGHT NAMED ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF LITTLE LEAGUE EASTERN REGION
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Corey Wright of Williamsport has been named assistant director at the Little League Baseball Eastern Region Headquarters in Bristol, Conn., it was announced today by Stephen D. Keener, president and chief executive officer of Little League Baseball, Incorporated.
Mr. Wright was a mathematics teacher at Roosevelt Middle School in Williamsport since August 1997, and has been assistant director for Little League Baseball summer camps in Williamsport and Bristol since 1991. He graduated from Clarion (Pa.) University with a degree in education in 1996.
"We’re pleased that Corey is joining the Little League family full-time," said Mr. Keener. "Corey’s experience with children and his familiarity with Little League will be great assets to the Eastern Region."
Mr. Wright, originally from South Williamsport, begins his new career with Little League this week. He replaces David James as Eastern Region assistant director. Mr. James was named the first director of the Little League Baseball Urban Initiative on Monday, and will be relocating back to Williamsport later this month.
Little League is the world’s largest youth sports organization, with 2.9 million players in all 50 states and 103 other countries.
